Publicis Singapore bolsters creative team with new hires

Publicis Singapore has appointed Goh Jia Ying and Ho Pei Ling as creative directors. Both Goh and Ho will report to Publicis co-executive creative directors, Jeremy Chia and Fajar Kurnia.

The pair will be tasked with leading some of the agency’s key accounts, with special focus on the Health Promotion Board. According to a statement, the appointment marks the return of the duo, who first began their careers in Publicis over a decade ago.

Prior to the move, Goh and Ho were associate creative directors at R/GA Singapore, and have been partners for almost 10 years. During their time at R/GA, they directed global and regional work for brands including Netflix, Google, Nikon and various Unilever brands out of Singapore, with a focus on innovation and data-driven methodologies.

“We’re very excited by their inherent understanding and passion for storytelling, no matter what platform. They bring wide experience and creative ambition to the table, and the team is ready to drive great change and results for our clients,” Kurnia said.

Publicis Singapore appointed Kurnia and Chia as its executive creative directors in April this year, roles which were previously held by Troy Lim and Jon Loke. Prior to the appointment, Kurnia and Chia were regional creative directors at Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore, and have been partners for almost a decade.

In January, the agency brought on board Sharim Gubbels as creative director of social. The role is a newly created one and will see him handling both local and regional clients. Prior to his appointment, Gubbels was creative director at We Are Social. The agency also promoted Joanne Theseira to managing director of Publicis Singapore.

It also saw the recent exit of head of social Avtar Ram Singh, who has since went to FALCON. Prior to the exit, he was with the agency for approximately three years as a business lead for its social media practice in Singapore.
