Publicis Singapore and Scoot host Singapore’s first in-flight wedding
In the spirit of love and Valentine’s day, Publicis Singapore and Scoot teamed up to host a lucky couple on Singapore’s first in-flight wedding.
The groom, Benjamin Lee, exchanged vows with his bride Janessa Li on board Scoot flight TZ 8 on February 11. They were joined by friends and family members, and were surrounded by flight crew dressed as angels and cupids. They are now enjoying a six-day honeymoon in Perth.
"Scoot is renowned for fun having, amongst much else, facilitated numerous birthday parties and anniversary celebrations over the past four years. But we have our romantic side too. We’ve hosted numerous onboard wedding proposals – including a great effort from one of our crew – and in 2013 TZ301 saw world’s longest inflight kiss stretch all the way from Bangkok to Singapore,” said Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer. “This Valentine's Day, we’ve jumped in to help Benjamin - nominated by his fiancé as the most un-romantic person around - tie the knot with the lovely Janessa whilst Scootin’ to Perth.”
The wedding was the culmination of Scoot’s “Spoil Market Lah” campaign, which aimed to transform the most unromantic man in Singapore into one capable of making grand gestures of love. The campaign also involved collaboration with Tourism Western Australia to feature Perth as a romantic getaway.
“All of us at Scoot are delighted to have played our little part in Benjamin and Janessa’s celebration, and to help make their big day both a bit different and something memorable. Congrats to the lovely couple!” said Wilson.
In addition to the grand prize of the in-flight wedding, Scoot also featured love declarations from 35 Facebook fans on the February 12 edition of Singapore’s TODAY newspaper.
“Our effectiveness as an integrated digital agency shines through campaigns like this,” Said Lou Dela Pena, Chief Executive Officer of Publicis Singapore. “Our close working relationship with Scoot, and their trust in us, allows our creative team to think freely and come up with fun and innovative concepts like this wedding in the sky.”
Publicis Singapore is the reigning Campaign Asia Singapore Creative Agency of the Year, and Scoot currently holds the title of Marketer of the Year from the Marketing Excellence Awards.
